Happy holidays!

Christmas is slightly different on the mission than at home. We had two Christmas Eve dinners yesterday. We had one at 4:00 and one at 7:00 . The first one was at our branch president’s house and we had some really good chicken and fish. The second one was at a new member from our from our branches house and we had tamales and some other dishes from Guatemala. We also visited someone who the elders before me were previously teaching.  On Saturday we went to dinner at a members house who lives on the air force base here so It was pretty cool to go over there.  There are a lot of service opportunities here. On Thursday we helped out at a food bank and helped someone who some other elders in the district are teaching split logs and toss them in a trailer and then we unloaded them in someone else's house. It ended up taking a couple hours to do but he bought us lunch at a place with really good burgers previously. On Wednesday we helped out at some Christian charity organizat...

Back in the USA

I moved again this week. This time it was to texas and then to new Mexico. So I guess the journey started way early o n Thursday morning. The bus left to go to the airport at 2:30am and we were there by 3:00. We got through security and all the stuff and waited in the airport ‘til we boarded the airplane's to Houston at around 5:10. We got to the Houston Airport at around 8:30 and we're there for a pretty long time until our next flight took off. We boarded a much smaller plane to fly to Lubbock at 2:30 in the afternoon and we landed in Lubbock at around 4 to meet my mission president so it was a pretty long day in summary.  We stayed the night at the mission home and in the morning we got all set for our areas. My first area is in Clovis, New Mexico which is pretty cool cuz that's where grandma and grandpa met and where grandpa got baptized so there's a cool little Easter egg. All the people are super nice here and I've been able to meet a bunch of members and ...

Goodbye Mexico

Good afternoon A week from today I'll be flying out to Lubbock from here so this'll be my last email from the CCM. It's kinda weird the first week here was such a drag but the rest of them kind of flew by. Anyway It’ll be interesting once we get to the mission field that's for sure.  If you've read one of the past like three letters I've written you kind of already know how the week has gone. Our service project last Thursday consisted of wiping dust off of synthetic plants with a damp rag in one of the buildings and cleaning the tops and sides of some chairs in the same building. On Friday evening we did a practice lesson and it went pretty well it was probably the best one we've done here.  Sunday was pretty decent we watched the Christmas devotional from Salt Lake in the evening, it was good. Monday through Wednesday might as well just have been the same day absolutely nothing special happened except we have a Tuesday night devotional and they're alwa...
