Narendranat

Morning Morning, how are all of us today? Things have changed a little bit since my last email as I have moved areas, unfortunately, I no longer reside in Dalhart I’m a couple hours further south in Midland, TX. It's a little hotter around here and the town is also a bit bigger. Also there are a heck-ton of oil pump things around here that the town often smells of oil and the water doesn’t taste very good.  So transfers happened this Wednesday, we headed up from Dalhart real early in the morning and basically traveled the whole day. In Lubbock there was this trainer-trainee orientation meeting that I went to and met both my companions. This is my first trio I’ve been in it’s interesting. One companion just started (he’s actually waiting on a visa to go to Peru) and the other ones got 23 months under his belt. We left from Lubbock to midland probably around 3 or so and got there a little while later. Mostly that whole day we just got settled in the place and went shopping.  Thu...

Good morning folks once again, welcome back to an email that is for some reason being written weekly again…don’t ask me why but here we are. This week was cool enough we had Zone Conference and Stake Conference on the same week! Can you believe that? And so life goes as a missionary when that's the most exiting thing to write about for the whole week. We had another exchange with the elders in Perryton at the start of this last week if that's notable enough to write down. We had some lessons in the afternoon and then after dinner we did some service for one of our members and helped her with her yard. Wednesday was similar we had two lessons in the afternoon one of them was In Spanish the other was in English and then we helped our member again finish up with her lawn. Thursday was Zone Conference so we went down to Amarillo to be taught by the young and old mission leaders and then we had interviews and then came back home to teach our English class. We had another person come...

Bull Riding

Good morn’ ladies and gentlemen, yes this is another email from me, Elder Joe Rivera. Today was a kind of interesting week so I decided to write a quick email even though I wrote one just last week. What made this week interesting was the big annual XIT Rodeo and Barbecue. Its a pretty big deal hear in small little Dalhart. A bunch of people from all around will come to it it is 3 days long and they have food every day. I'll get to other details later on but would you believe they do the biggest free barbecue in the world? No wonder so many people show up.  That stuff all started Thursday although the week after P-day started Tuesday. On Tuesday we did exchanges with the elders in Dumas. I went down there with them to talk to their people who only speak Spanish and teach them some lessons. The next day I was back in Dalhart and we taught a few lessons they all went well only one of them was In Spanish but it was good. In the evening we had a lesson with a dude who thought ŵe were k...
