Hello another time

Good morning Its me again from new Mexico. I guess since it's another p-day I'm obligated to write another one of these things. Don't worry it won't be too long considering it's been like 4 days. The rest of the week last week wasn't too eventful. We spoke with some of our folks we’re teaching and had some lessons but nothing insane. On Saturday we spoke to one of our folks we’ve had a lesson with and he said he was coming to church and his friend or something was also there and he had some interesting ideas on religion and said our problem is that we aren't calling jesus by his original Hebrew name and the reason so few people will get into the kingdom of heaven is cuz we don't call him yashua and then he shared a story about how he was inspired to walk from Hobbs to Odessa to be rejected by a pastor and then he walked to Milshew…it was quite the tale. Later in the day, we had a lesson with another dude we've been trying to meet with for a whi...

Hello

Good morning.  This week was a little bit slower of a week and a half but I guess I can write about a couple days of the past little while. On Tuesday afternoon of last week we found this guy who seemed really interested in the church and open to come to church and our English class and stuff so that was pretty cool. In the evening we went by our man Kelly who meets with the English elders Tuesday evenings but we usually come along as well. On Wednesday we did some service with him and put back up a fence that fell over because of the wind. We went to seminary early on Thursday morning and taught part of the class so thats fun. We helped out at the food bank as usual after that. The rest of the week was slow we met with most of our people who are interested or being taught and set up future appointments. Unfortunately no one new came to church on Sunday but we did bring the sacrament to a member who can't make it to church.  We found out transfer news on Tuesday night and all ...

It snowed

Good morning, Its been a decently cold week over here in New Mexico. We got a few dustings of snow on Thursday and Friday morning which was pretty neat considering I didn't think I would see any snowfall in my mission. This week was a little bit slower than last week. On Tuesday morning we had our district council meeting and talked about what's going on in the areas and after that we went knocking on doors and the people either didn't answer their doors or they weren't interested so pretty typical time there. The next day my companion was a little sick, so we didn't do much that day. We went on exchanges Thursday morning with the fort Sumner Elders and I went up to their area. Fort Sumner is a small little village with like not even a thousand people and it's like an hour from Clovis. It's a neat little place. The church building we have there Is just a house that was converted Into a church building. The upper floor is the chapel and the branch presidents ...

Happy January

Good morning.  This week was relatively successful as far as missionary work goes here. We had a chill Christmas day at home on Monday and Tuesday was our day to have a regular p day to go shopping and other things as such. On Tuesday evening we contacted a few people who might be interested and set up some future appointments.  Wednesday afternoon we drove over to Lubbock to stay with the zone leaders for a zone conference the next day. We also were able to visit the temple Wednesday night at it was really cool. The Lubbock temple is really small and everything is on the same level but it was quite good. Thursday morning was our zone conference which is just a big meeting with everyone in the Lubbock north zone and the mission president and stuff. That afternoon we drove back to Clovis and we had a lesson with a lady named Gladys and she was quite interested and we gave her a Book of Mormon so there's another person were teaching now. We also visited with another dude na...
