Catholics on Saturday Mormons on Sunday

Good morning everyone. I realize that I've been in a bit of an apostasy when it comes to writing letters but we're back today.

This past month has been pretty eventful. I finished up my time in Clovis new Mexico and got shipped off to a small town up north called Dalhart Texas. It's quite smaller than Clovis checking in at around 7000 people in terms of population and we're the only companionship there so that is also a bit different.

So I got here the 19th and been here since. We had a big meeting with the whole mission on the 22nd so last Monday, we heard a general authority speak to us and commend everyone for being such good missionaries and then p-day was the following day. P days are a bit of an adjustment here with no other missionaries to hang out with but they are peaceful I suppose. Dalhart has a lot of trees and very few barking dogs much different than Clovis.

We had district council on Wednesday in Dumas (a town 45 minutes away) and for the rest of the day we walked around town knocking on doors. For dinner we went to a branch party thing at the church it was good we played kickball and had hamburgers and it felt like a Spanish branch because only the spanish speakers were there along with us and our branch president but it was a good branch activity.

On Thursday we went to out to Clayton a place even smaller than Dalhart around an hour away. We had a lunch with a member who lives out there and dinner with another member so we just worked out there between meals. Talk about a waste of time we knocked that whole town it feels like-and no one was interested. We parked on one side and walked all the way to the other.

On Friday we just stopped by everyone we teach and knocked on their doors. We did a similar thing on Saturday and we went to this cool small Mexican restaurant and then we had some more time in our dinner hour and we saw there was a mass at the Catholic church right by our house so we decided to check it out for a little bit. It was a bit different than the way we do things. We got there at the end so we were only there for 15-20 minutes.

Yesterday we went to our church and had a pretty normal day.

Well that's all I suppose. It's been good in the area so far so we'll have to see how the transfer goes. Anyway that's all so see you later

The Wild East

Goood morning how are all of us today? Here we are again another week to write another letter. This week was somewhat eventful so here's a brief explanation for some of the events.  On Monday evening some other missionaries came into town to a mini exchange here in Hobbs but we were both working in our area. We knocked doors the whole evening and met some interesting people. Tuesday was pretty normal, we had district council then did our singing service then later in the day we went and did English class. After that we visited some members who are pretty cool then we had a lesson with someone who we just started teaching again. Wednesday was pretty long we mostly just knocked the whole day and visited some people we also visited another member and had a short message with them. On Thursday we had a couple more lessons which was good. We had a lesson with one of the referrals we got and he's actually pretty cool he's really wanting to come to church and learn more and all t...

It is well

Goood morning gentlemen and ladies. I suppose a letter is due seeing that this is in fact my last week in the mission field. It's been pretty awesome being out here and definitely the best decision I ever made up until now—is serving a mission. I don't really got too many profound spiritual things to say here so might as well give a little recap.  It's been really great being here in Hobbs and all the other areas meeting all the people specifically the Spanish ones. This last week we met with lots of cool people and taught them. On Monday we met with our friend Mario who's on baptismal date and he's doing well. We talked about the plan of salvation and he said an epic prayer at the end. We also met with 2 other people were teaching who are doing really well and we talked with them about baptism. Tuesday was also good we had a lesson in the afternoon and then English class and some other lessons and stuff On Wednesday we had an exchange with the other elders here in ...
